  • Economy: We provide lower-class vehicles for transfers, and accommodations consist of more budget-friendly hotels and guesthouses. This option is ideal for tourists looking to minimize costs.

Note: Be cautious of companies that misrepresent their Economy tariff as Standard. These companies may offer lower-priced tours with poor service quality, such as outdated vehicles and inexperienced guides. They might also operate illegally and neglect essential safety standards.

  • Comfort: This option features high-comfort vehicles in excellent condition, with the most experienced guides accompanying tourists. Tourists stay in high-class hotels.
  • VIP: Luxury transport is provided, and guests stay in upscale hotels. Premium services are offered throughout the entire trip.

At 7:00, your guide will meet you at your hotel, and you'll board a comfortable vehicle to depart from Almaty. The drive to the village of Kurmety will take a few hours. Upon arrival, you'll enjoy lunch at a guest house before setting off on a horse ride to Lower Kolsay Lake – the largest and most accessible of the three Kolsay Lakes. The crystal-clear water is cold year-round and home to rainbow trout. The surrounding mountains are inhabited by wapitis, mountain goats, wolves, and even bears. Reaching the lakeshore, you'll take a short break for tea or coffee before returning to the guest house. In the evening, you can unwind with dinner, a bathhouse or shower, and well-earned rest.

After breakfast at 9:00, prepare for the main stretch of your horseback journey. Today's ride follows relatively easy trails with gentle elevation changes, allowing for a comfortable pace. Along the way, we'll make several stops to rest and enjoy lunch. Our destination is a mountain hut offering stunning views of the upper reaches of the Taldy Gorge. Here, you'll settle in for the night and enjoy a hearty dinner.

Horseback riding distance – 15 km (9 mi)

Today is a break from horseback riding. In the afternoon, we'll set out on a hike to the upper reaches of the Taldy Gorge. The route is easy, passing partly through a forested area where we'll cross a couple of shallow fords. Emerging into a wide valley, you'll encounter the river again – this time crossing via an old bridge.

We'll stop at a long-abandoned shepherd's camp, have lunch, and, if you're lucky, spot wildlife. Since tourists rarely venture here, you may see bears, mountain goats, and other animals in their natural habitat. After lunch, you can continue exploring up the valley toward the moraine blockage before returning to the hut in the evening for dinner and rest.

Hiking distance – 14 km (9 mi)

We'll start the day early. After breakfast and packing up, you'll continue your horseback journey. The first stretch follows a familiar road before leading us to the banks of the Kurmety River, where we'll stop for lunch and rest.

The afternoon ride features a steady ascent to the Besmoinak Pass. Most of the trail winds through a dense coniferous forest, where traces of wild animals are often visible. Upon reaching the pass saddle, we'll take a short break to enjoy the views before a final ride to the next mountain hut. There, you'll settle in for the night and enjoy dinner.

Overnight in the guesthouse
Horseback riding distance – 15 km (12 mi)

On this day, depending on the group's condition, you can add a short trek to the Middle Kolsay Lake. The descent from the hut takes about two hours. Upon reaching the shore, you'll head to a secluded spot away from the usual tourist paths. Here, you'll enjoy a picnic, and if the weather allows, those who wish can swim in the lake! After some time to relax and explore, you'll return to the hut for dinner and rest.

Horseback riding distance – 15 km (9 mi)

After breakfast, we’ll set out on the final leg of the horse route – one of the most thrilling sections of the journey. Upon reaching the ridge, we'll follow its crest almost all the way to the village of Kurmety, with several stops along the way. At one of these stops, you'll take in a breathtaking panorama of the entire Kungey Alatau ridge. By evening, we'll arrive in the village, where dinner and a relaxing bathhouse or shower await.

Overnight in the guesthouse
Horseback riding distance – 15 km (9 mi)

After breakfast at the guesthouse, we'll take a short drive to Lake Kaindy, a hidden gem nestled in a pine forest at an altitude of 2,000 m (6,560 ft) above sea level. Its mystical beauty is beyond words – you have to see it for yourself. Upon arrival, you'll take a short walk along the shore, soaking in the lake’s scenery.

After a walk by the lake, you'll enjoy a small picnic before setting off on a drive to Lunar Canyon – one of the lesser-known branches of Charyn Canyon. Few tourists visit this hidden gem, allowing it to remain relatively untouched. After exploring the canyon, we'll begin the journey back to Almaty, arriving in the city around 8:00 PM.
