The train ride was fine – I was so glad Dina booked the bottom bed. Taraz was interesting, I enjoyed this city. Only thing I would recommend different is that after the overnight train it would have been good to go first to a clean bathroom to freshen up.
Aksu Jabagly NP was beautiful. Unfortunately on my first night it snowed and I could not hike in the mountains. Yerzhan made a good substitute day. Next day I also could not hike and we went to Shymkent. This was ok but maybe my least favourite day of the trip as it was a bit boring.
Turkistan was great – I really enjoyed this city.
Overall it was an enjoyable trip. The food was delicious everywhere. The guesthouse food was amazing. The guesthouse was clean and comfortable. Not 10 due to shared bathroom. Hotel in Shymkent was fine, good location.
