Your journey to explore Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, starts as you meet your guide at the hotel. Delving into the historical roots of modern Astana, we will go to the older part of the city. Our journey kicks off with a visit to the Constantine and Helena Cathedral.
The Constantine and Helena Cathedral is the oldest Orthodox temple in Astana. Erected between 1900 and 1902, this five-domed structure follows a plan that adheres to the shape of a regular cross – a design characteristic of late 19th-century architectural trends.
Within the cathedral's precincts, there is a Sunday school building, a refectory, a library, an administrative complex, and the residence of the Head of the Orthodox Church in Kazakhstan. In 1999, the church attained the status of a cathedral, receiving the blessing of Archbishop Alexy, now Metropolitan of Tula and Belyov. Not only does the temple serve as a place of worship, but it also holds immense architectural and historical value.
Continuing our tour route, we will explore the Esil River Embankment. Here, you'll see the monument to Kenesary Khan, the leader of the Kazakh Khanate and a key figure in the National Liberation Movement of the Kazakhs from 1837 to 1847. Additionally, we will visit the monument dedicated to the founders of the Kazakh Khanate, Zhanibek and Kerey. Our journey will also take us to the Trading House of the merchant Matvey Kubrin.
The next destination of our tour is the Museum of Saken Seifullin, the renowned poet, writer, founder of modern Kazakh literature, and distinguished statesman. You will see the building, built in the 1850s, where Seifullin once worked. The narrative of the writer's tragic fate is sure to resonate with all who visit. Our tour concludes with a return to your hotel.
Following lunch at a restaurant, we'll continue our exploration of the capital of Kazakhstan. Our next stop is Independence Square.

Next, you'll explore the world's largest tent-shaped structure – the Khan Shatyr Shopping and Entertainment Center, designed by the acclaimed architect Norman Foster.
Concluding the tour, you'll ascend to the observation deck of the Baiterek Monument. Here, you'll see the city center from a bird's eye perspective. Afterward, we will make our way back to your hotel.
The Baiterek Monument is the city's most iconic landmark. Erected in 2003, it symbolizes the relocation of the capital from Almaty to Akmola (later Astana). The structure stands at a height of 100 meters (328 ft), and with the crowning sphere, it reaches 105 meters (345 ft). The lower level extends four and a half meters underground, housing cafes, aquariums, and a mini-gallery. An elevator from this level takes you to the highest point – the sphere – where a bar and a panoramic hall provide breathtaking views.
