From the vantage point of the mountain's summit, one is treated to a panoramic spectacle of the landscape, with iconic landmarks like the Jumbaktas Rock, the Okzhetpes Rock, and the lakes of Borovoe and Big Chebachie gracing the horizon. Mount Bolektau derives its name from the Kazakh language, where "bolek tau" translates to "lonely mountain." Indeed, it stands in isolation, distinct from the surrounding peaks.

Dragon teeth

As you explore Mount Bolektau, you'll undoubtedly be drawn to the peculiarly shaped boulders that pepper its terrain. Legend has it that these are the remnants of dragon teeth. Long ago, a colossal dragon descended upon these lands. Seeking refuge, people hid in the crevices and caverns of the mountains. The dragon began scouring every cave. In one of them, a family sought shelter. With valor, the eldest son took up arms against the beast. In a final, selfless act, he drove his sword into the dragon's throat. The dragon still rests upon the mountain with its gaping maw, immortalized in stone.
