Lake Tekekol

The Burabay resort area is primarily synonymous with Lake Borovoe and its immediate attractions for most tourists. However, those seeking a quieter retreat often find solace at Lake Shuchye. Meanwhile, enthusiasts of fishing, hiking, and camping gravitate towards lakes Bolshoye and Maloye Chebachye. For an even more secluded experience, Lake Tekekol offers respite from the crowds.

Lake Tekekol is positioned on the periphery of the resort area, accounting for its relative obscurity. Yet, it attracts those yearning for nature's embrace away from the hustle and bustle.

Tekekol's bed is uneven, plunging to depths of up to 8 meters in certain spots. The lake assumes an oval shape with several bays and peninsulas. Tekekol boasts exceptionally clear water, the lakebed is visible even in its deepest sections. Along certain stretches, the shoreline is overgrown with reed thickets.

Accommodation options are limited to a few guest houses situated along the lake's edge. Tekekol also attracts tent campers seeking seclusion. Fishing enthusiasts are drawn to the lake's abundant aquatic life, including perch, roach, bream, carp, tench, pike perch, and more.

How to get there?

Lake Tekekol is easily accessible by car. It’s located about 15 km (9 mi) from the village of Burabay. Head north-east towards the village of Zeleny Bor. After you pass the village, make a left turn. Continue straight ahead, the signage will lead you to the lake.
