Taskamal Rock Formation
The Taskamal rock formation in Burabay National Park, often referred to as the "stone fortress," is a fascinating natural or potentially man-made structure. This formation consists of large stones stacked to resemble a wall. Even its name "Taskamal" translates from Kazakh as "stone fortress."
The wall averages about 2 meters (6.6 ft) in height, and the stones are so massive that even modern machinery might struggle to move them. There is debate over whether the wall is a natural geological formation or a man-made structure, and if it is the latter, the methods and purposes behind its construction remain unknown.
Despite its mysterious allure, the Taskamal rock formation faces issues with graffiti from visitors. Efforts by local authorities to clean the inscriptions are ongoing, but maintaining the site's natural beauty remains a challenge.
