Dragon Cave

One of the most frequently visited attractions in Zerenda is the Dragon Cave, also called the Aidahar Cave. From the outside, the entrance appears quite inconspicuous, resembling more a pile of stones at first glance. Visitors should enter carefully and watch their steps to avoid tripping over the stones.

The cave measures 270 meters (295 yd) in length, 70 meters (230 ft) at its widest point, and 35 meters (115 ft) in height. Inside, the cave feels enormous.

There are many legends about the cave. According to one of the most common, a healer lived there long ago. The path to him was not easy, but anyone who reached him could be cured of all ailments. After the healer's death, his healing energy remained in the cave. To this day, locals believe that spending time in this place can heal the human body.

How to get there?

The Dragon Cave is located upstream of the Shagalaly River (also known as Chaglinka), 31 km (19 mi) west of the village of Zerenda. The nearby village of Ulguli can also serve as a landmark, as the cave is only a couple of kilometers away. It is convenient to reach the cave by car, and there is a small parking lot near the entrance.
