Nur-Gasyr Mosque
Nur-Gasyr Mosque is a major architectural landmark and Aktobe’s key religious center. Its construction began in April 2006 and wrapped up by September 2008.
The building follows a square layout with four minarets, each rising 63 meters (207 ft), anchored at the corners. At the center, a 40-meter dome crowns the complex. Both the dome and minarets gleam with a golden metallic finish that catches the light from afar.
The white-marble facades give the mosque a bright, clean look. Inside, the space accommodates up to 3,500 worshippers. The main hall is illuminated by a three-ton chandelier. Prayer rooms are covered with Turkish carpets spanning 1,180 square meters. The mihrab and dome are decorated with mosaics featuring Quranic verses.
The complex also includes:
- a madrasah lecture hall and student dormitory
- a library and computer room
- a Quran reading room
- a dining hall for 300 people
In front of the mosque lies a landscaped park with a fountain shaped to echo the form of the mosque itself. Nearby, you’ll find the Neke Sarayi Wedding Palace.
