AltynTau Trout Farm
Over the weekend, the desire to escape the city's noise and vehicular emissions beckons. Luckily, you don't have to go far from Almaty to find a cozy getaway. The AltynTau Trout Farm is a serene spot nestled among birch and pine trees, perfect for chilling with your loved ones.
While you're there, you can try your hand at catching rainbow trout in the river. The riverbanks, thoughtfully paved with stones, enhance the convenience of your fishing experience. The caught fish come with a fee, and should you choose, they can even cook it up for you. Many visitors also bring along sports equipment like balls and badminton rackets to relish outdoor games. It's worth noting that fishing rods and other gear are available for rent since you're not allowed to bring your own.
And here's a fantastic bonus: the Ile Alatau Mountains provide a breathtaking backdrop. In spring and summer, they're covered in lush greenery and wildflowers. Don't miss out on a hike in these mountains – they're a natural wonder you've got to see.
How to get there?
To get to the trout farm from Almaty, it takes roughly 1.5 hours via the Kuljinsky or Talgar tract. The distance is approximately 73-79 km (45-49 mi), depending on which route you opt for.
