The Sandspit
Rock festival
The Sandspit is a small peninsula on the Kapchagai reservoir in Kazakhstan, renowned as the host of the largest rock festival in the country – Family Rock Fest. This annual festival, held since 2022, features famous rock bands and singers performing over three days. In 2024, the lineup includes Splean, Mumiy Troll, Diana Arbenina, Kino, Agatha Christie, Slot, Nookie, Animal Jazz, Murakami, Louna, and others.
Spectators can camp right on the Sandspit, with a campsite available near the stage that includes toilets, showers, and a food court. For those seeking more comfort, there are six hotels, including a VIP hotel with a terrace overlooking the stage. The Family Rock Fest typically takes place in August, with ticket sales starting in November-December, around 9-10 months before the concert. As the festival approaches, ticket prices increase. The lineup of performing artists is revealed incrementally.
What else does the Sandspit offer?
The rock festival only lasts for three days a year, but the Sandspit offers plenty of activities year-round. Visitors can also go water skiing or surfing at the wake park.
Additionally, the Sandspit has a race track where you can ride ATVs and buggies. The track is well-equipped, allowing for high-level races.
