The Village of Saty

 

The village of Saty is situated in the picturesque Almaty Region, approximately 280 km (174 mi) away from the city of Almaty. It stands on the banks of the Shilik River, which originates from the Ile Alatau Mountains' glaciers and flows into the Bartogay Reservoir.

One of the village's main highlights is its proximity to Kolsay Lakes, which are among the Almaty Region's most famous tourist attractions, reachable in just a short 15-minute drive. On your way to the Kolsay Lakes and Lake Kaindy, you will definitely pass through Saty village.

Saty boasts a wide range of guest houses run by hospitable locals. Visitors can purchase traditional Kazakh products, including honey, and rent horses to explore the nearby attractions. The village's infrastructure is rapidly improving to cater to the growing interest of tourists in the area. While there may not be many activities in the village itself, the breathtaking landscapes surrounding Saty are truly magical and worth a visit.

How to get there?

The route from Almaty to Saty village begins on the Almaty-Khorgos highway and then transitions into the R-16 road.
