Hotel Kazakhstan

The Hotel Kazakhstan is an iconic symbol of Almaty and is situated in a prestigious and picturesque location. Standing at 102 meters (335 ft) tall with 26 floors, it opened its doors to guests in 1977, making it the first skyscraper in Almaty. It remains the most earthquake-resistant high-rise building in the city. However, in 2008, the title of the tallest building was taken by the Esentai Tower (168m) which surpassed Hotel Kazakhstan.

During the 2010s, the Hotel Kazakhstan underwent several changes, including the addition of new coffee shops in the lobby, a fully transparent entrance group, and architectural lighting. Its key selling point is the breathtaking view of the Ile Alatau Mountains from the windows, and the iconic golden crown structure on the top.
