Former Building of Kazpotrebsoyuz

The former Kazpotrebsoyuz building in Almaty, constructed over a span of four years from 1953 to 1957, showcases a distinct neoclassical architectural style. The structure, designed in the shape of the Cyrillic letter "Г," comprises a symmetrical three-story body featuring three pavilions separated by anti-seismic joints.

A noteworthy feature of the building is the six-story tower with an imposing spire, accentuating the corner. The facade is of pinkish color, complemented by white platbands and ornaments. The main entrance faces Astana Square.

In the 1990s, the Kazpotrebsoyuz building faced a period of vacancy following the dissolution of the USSR and the closure of the enterprise. Today, it serves as a residential building with ground-floor accommodations hosting offices, shops, and beauty salons.
