Russian Theater for Young Audiences named after Natalia Sats

The Russian Theater for Young Audiences named after Natalia Sats, colloquially referred to as the "Youth Theater," was established in 1945. At that time, the renowned theater director Natalia Sats was in exile in Almaty. She initiated the establishment of the theater which became a platform for staging celebrated works, both from foreign and Soviet playwrights.

In 1985, the theater was divided into two groups: the Kazakh Theater for Young Audiences named after G. Musrepov, and the Russian Theater, which retained the name of N. Sats. Initially, both troupes shared the same stage for rehearsals. However, in 2000, the Russian team found a separate home in the building of the former Palace of Culture of the Almaty Cotton Mill.

The theater has two stages catering to different audiences: the historical stage, hosting performances for children and teenagers, and a smaller stage for adult audiences.

The theater nurtures future talents through the "Sats ComUnity," a free children's theater studio. This studio cultivates a deep appreciation for the arts and nurtures the artistic potential of the younger generation.
