Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport
Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport is the only airport in Astana and the second busiest air hub in Kazakhstan after the Almaty International Airport. It handles approximately 195 daily flights to various destinations. As of 2023, the airport accommodates flights from 20 airlines, including Kazakhstani carriers like Air Astana, SCAT Airlines, Fly Arystan, and QAZAQ Air, as well as international airlines such as Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Air China, FlyDubai, Aeroflot, WizzAir, and others.
Operating in line with the international standards of IATA (International Air Transport Association) and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), the airport boasts modern amenities, including informative display boards and self-service terminals. Within the airport, passengers can access facilities like a business lounge, CIP and VIP rooms, a mother and child room, luggage storage, and designated smoking areas in the departure halls. Moreover, the airport complex provides several additional services and amenities. These include ATMs, currency exchange offices, local SIM card purchase, luggage wrapping services, and a range of souvenir and gift shops for travelers to explore.
Following Kazakhstan's independence and the capital's relocation, the airfield underwent significant reconstruction. The runway was extended and equipped with artificial turf, while taxiways and the apron were expanded. The lighting, signaling systems, and radio navigation equipment were upgraded, and a VIP lounge was constructed. The air terminal complex also underwent reconstruction. A large-scale international air harbor reconstruction project was completed in 2005, culminating in the grand opening of the new passenger terminal in February. Currently, the airport consists of three terminals: T1 for international flights, T2 for domestic flights, and a separate terminal for business aviation. It is worth noting that the design of the domestic terminal was crafted by renowned architect Kisho Kurokawa, known for projects like the Nakagin Capsule Tower in Tokyo, the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg, and the Republic Plaza skyscraper in Singapore.
To enhance the travel experience, visitors can conveniently pay for access to the VIP/CIP lounges of Astana airport through our website. Detailed information about the services and privileges offered in these lounges, as well as payment options, can be found on this page.
