Qazaqstan Athletics Сomplex
The Qazaqstan Athletics Complex, located in Astana, stands as one of the most modern and recently constructed sports facilities in the city. Completed in 2020, its primary purpose is to serve as a venue for international athletics competitions. It forms an integral part of Astana's sports cluster, a collection of nearby facilities that can be utilized simultaneously during major events.
Architectural aesthetics played a significant role in the design of the complex. The architects sought to create a distinctive and futuristic appearance, ensuring that the building would not resemble any existing athletic facilities. The result is a visually captivating structure that stands out among its counterparts.
Since its inauguration, the Qazaqstan Athletics Complex has been a hub for training Olympic athletes. It has received certification from the International Association of Athletics Federations, enabling the facility to host international championships and prestigious competitions.
The athletics arena within the complex boasts six 200-meter running tracks along its outer perimeter, accompanied by eight tracks at 50 and 60 meters positioned at the center. The facility also features sectors for pole vault, long jump, and triple jump. The spacious stands can accommodate nearly 7,000 spectators. Moreover, the complex offers additional amenities to cater to a wide range of athletic needs. These include a 25-meter swimming pool with six lanes, an athletic hall, a warm-up track equipped with a treadmill, and sectors for shot put and high jump.
