House of Ministries
The House of Ministries, situated opposite the Akorda Presidential Palace, holds a prominent position in the heart of Kazakhstan's political and administrative hub. Alongside its notable neighbors, such as the Parliament, the Government, and the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan, this architectural marvel stands out with its unique design and functionality.
Stretching across a staggering length of one and a half kilometers, the House of Ministries is the longest building in the capital. Its appearance resembles that of a horizontal skyscraper, with cascading floors ranging from 8 to 10 stories. Upon viewing it from an elevated position, one can discern the resemblance of a soaring eagle or an arc. At the center, a wide passage beckons visitors, flanked on either side by two towering golden structures that reach a height of 120 meters (394 ft). These golden towers symbolize the Golden Man, an archaeological discovery representing a Scythian warrior and serving as an emblem of sovereign Kazakhstan.
Inside the House of Ministries, one will find a well-organized array of offices, conference rooms, and dining areas. The distinctiveness of this complex lies in its practicality, as it was crucial to provide seamless vertical and horizontal communication between the various ministries located within the same building.
Being at the epicenter of the nation's business affairs, the House of Ministries bustles with activity, including meetings, negotiations, and daily work. Its corridors are filled with hundreds of formally attired employees who energetically commute to work each day. Consequently, the area experiences heavy traffic congestion, making it a true testament to the vibrant atmosphere of the capital's business life.
