Peace Wall Monument

The Peace Wall Monument combines modern technology and symbolic design elements to create a powerful statement of peace and unity. The monument features a big curved LED screen integrated into a petal-shaped roof.

The petal roof, measuring 111 meters in length, is constructed using sturdy metal frameworks and granite. It consists of high-resolution LED panels capable of displaying vibrant and immersive images and videos. The integration of an advanced audio system allows for the accompanying playback of sounds.

One of the most captivating features of the monument is the word «Peace» displayed in 51 languages, encircling the sculpture. The monument holds significant historical and symbolic significance as well. Its inauguration on August 29, 2018, carries a deliberate meaning, as this date marks the closure of the Semipalatinsk test site, which had been a site for nuclear weapons testing for many years. Moreover, the United Nations has proclaimed this very day as the International Day against Nuclear Tests.

The Peace Wall Monument truly comes alive at night, with its magnificent LED screen illuminating the dark sky in a dazzling display of colors. To fully appreciate its splendor, an evening stroll along Independence Square is highly recommended. Alongside the Peace Wall Monument, visitors can marvel at the futuristic architecture of Shabyt University of the Arts, the Palace of Independence, and the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
