Church of Saints Peter and Paul

In Karaganda’s Central Park, amid quiet green alleys, rises the wooden Church of Saints Peter and Paul. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on April 24, 2004, and the church was completed in the summer of 2007. The location was chosen deliberately – in the 1930s, this ground was a burial site for victims of political repression.

It is the only wooden church in the Karaganda region. The log structure was handcrafted by artisans in Omsk, Russia, then carefully dismantled, transported, and reassembled in Karaganda. The builders used no nails, only wooden dowels.

Beside the church stands a brick building that houses a Sunday school, where children and adults attend classes.

How to get there?
