Akmeshit-Syrdarya Mosque
The Akmeshit-Syrdarya Mosque is the main mosque in Kyzylorda. Erected in 2008, it can accommodate 2000 worshippers. The mosque houses multiple halls, with the main hall taking precedence in size. Additionally, there are five prayer halls, a dedicated space for female worshippers (reflecting the Islamic tradition of separate prayer areas for men and women), a library, a Quranic learning center, and a crafts facility. Furthermore, the mosque provides a designated area for nikah ceremonies.
The mosque features pristine white walls, four minarets, a striking turquoise dome, and arched windows. The interior exudes a sense of spaciousness, beauty, and tranquility. A crystal chandelier bathes every corner in light. Verses from the Quran adorn the bright blue-turquoise walls in golden letters. Arabic script also embellishes the façade of the building. As night falls, the central mosque is illuminated to showcase its architectural splendor.
