Mausoleum of Maral Ishan
The Mausoleum of Maral Ishan, situated in the Kyzylorda region, dates back to the 19th century. The structure, built in the form of a square with two chambers, was constructed using mud brick. A dome is crowning the mausoleum. Notably, the structure mirrors the design of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi's mausoleum, albeit on a more modest scale and devoid of ornate embellishments.
Maral Ishan, a spiritual guide, theologian, and healer, lived in the 18th century. Despite becoming an orphan at an early age, he received a good education, allowing him to delve into religious studies and healing practices. Maral Ishan actively opposed the colonization of the Kazakh people by the Russian Empire.
