Lake Birzhankol
Lake Birzhankol is the smallest among the four lakes located within Bayanaul National Park. Its diameter is 800 m (875 yd). Its deepest point reaches approximately 5 meters (16 ft). It derives its name from the Kazakh language, translating to "Lake of One Soul." Fed by a river originating in the nearby mountains, this picturesque reservoir boasts a diverse landscape along its shores.
A part of the lake’s shore is overgrown with reeds and sedges. Flat stones characterize the southern and western shores, contrasting with the sandy stretches found to the north and east. The lake is surrounded by the hills and peaks of Aiyrtas, Koitas, and Kazkongan. Lake Birzhankol can be accessed from all directions.
The lake teems with various carp species, particularly along its eastern coast. On the lake's western shore lies the village of Birzhankol, home to approximately 56 residents.
