Shymkent Circus
Kazakhstan is home to four permanent circuses, located in Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, and Shymkent. The Shymkent Circus is the newest addition, having opened in late 2012. Before this, residents only enjoyed performances from traveling circus troupes. The grand opening of the Shymkent Circus featured a special performance by the renowned Moscow Nikulin Circus.
Circus buildings often boast distinctive architecture. For instance, the Astana Circus is designed to resemble a giant flying saucer, while the Shymkent Circus resembles a faceted gem. The structure's convex dome is composed of several symmetrical facets.
Today, the Shymkent Circus has its own troupe of acrobats, clowns, illusionists, and trained animals. Additionally, it frequently hosts touring circuses from other cities and countries.
