Mausoleum of Beketai
The Mausoleum of Beketai was constructed in the 19th century by local master Nurymbet. Its most striking feature is the big domed roof, standing at 7 meters (23 ft). Inside, the mausoleum comprises two rooms: a corridor and a burial chamber. While accounts suggest the presence of a blue stone tombstone, it was not preserved. The structure is crafted from fired bricks. Notably, the facade wall surpasses others in height and width, jutting out from the building.
Despite efforts at reconstruction, the time has taken its toll on the mausoleum, which is evident in the significant structural damage. Large cracks are visible on the walls, one turret has collapsed, and the brickwork sags.
In close proximity stands a very similar structure – the Mausoleum of Basibek. Erected slightly later, Basibek's tomb is better preserved. Though lacking a roof, it mirrors the architectural design of Beketai's mausoleum in every other aspect.
