Mausoleum of Syrlybai
Syrlybai Shabakuly (1818-1896) served as the chief adviser to the Shah of Khwarazm, an ancient state situated in the delta of the Amudarya River, and also held military leadership under Zhankozha Batyr.
Constructed at the close of the 19th century, the Mausoleum of Syrlybai is crafted from baked brick. It comprises a corridor and a burial chamber. Above the burial chamber, a turquoise-painted brick dome ascends, with openings in the tholobate marking the four cardinal directions.
