Hibatullah at-Tarazi Mosque
The main mosque in Taraz was opened in 2008, although its construction began in 2003. It is dedicated to the medieval theologian Hibatullah at-Tarazi. Four years post its inauguration, a madrasah (a religious school) was established at the mosque. The madrasah is equipped with essential facilities such as a library, dining room, bedrooms, classrooms, and offices for teaching and administrative staff. Noteworthy is the inclusion of both local and foreign educators who contribute to the instructional programs.
Hibatullah At-Tarazi Mosque can accommodate over 1000 worshippers. It features seven domes with the tallest reaching a height of 32.5 meters (105 ft). The interior is adorned with Quranic verses, while national motifs grace the surroundings of the front entrance. The predominant colors in both decor and architecture are blue and beige. The architectural style of the mosque resembles those of medieval mausoleums, characterized by semicircular domes and pointed arches. The landscaped area surrounding the mosque includes flower beds, trees, paved walkways, lanterns, and benches, creating a serene and aesthetically pleasing environment.
