Ungirkora Сave

While the Altyn-Emel National Park is home to numerous caves, the Ungirkora Cave holds a unique distinction due to its impressive size. It reigns as the largest cave in Altyn-Emel, with towering walls reaching a height of 20 meters (66 ft), a depth of 25 meters (82 ft), and a diameter of 5 meters (16 ft). Inside, the cave's walls boast a relatively smooth texture, while its shape resembles that of a traditional yurt. Researchers speculate that it might have served as an ancient dwelling, further supported by the discovery of ancient animal bones within its depths. The entrance is guarded by towering cliffs, and a spacious platform lies in front of the entrance.

How to get there?

The Ungirkora Cave is located in the Kaskyrsay Gorge of the Sholak Mountains. Venturing to the Ungirkora cave independently can prove arduous and disorienting, as the route is challenging to navigate without proper guidance. Therefore, it is highly recommended to explore the attractions of Altyn-Emel under the supervision of an experienced guide or as part of a guided tour.
