Iskander

My colleague & I took a full day tour visiting interesting places in Almaty. Our guide was Iskander, a young & good looking fellow who is very knowledgeable about Almaty and even beyond. We particularly loved Shymbulak mountain resort, the cable car ride & just simply strolling around taking pictures, watching kids learn to ski & taking in the cool air. We also liked Panfilov Park, the beatles bench & mini-zoo at KokTobe, and the lovely Ascension Cathedral.

My guide, Iskander, made this day a great one. He speaks English well, is very motivated to learn more, described the different areas and sights in the city in an interesting way, and was very friendly and caring.
I enjoyed seeing the changes in Almaty, getting to know the history, and trying new things. I would go back again in the future and take the tour again. That's how much I enjoyed it.

This was my second day tour with my great guide, Iskander. I mentioned previously that he was kind, motivated, fun, and interesting. First stop - First President's Park. It was closed, preparing for Almaty City Day, but impressive to see anyway. We then headed up past Big Almaty Lake. There was snow, which our driver had not seen before, which was cool. Iskander and I hiked a bit close to a research station, and he brought poles for me to use, because of my ankle. Very thoughtful. We had a beautiful view and stopped for tea and snacks (brought by Iskander). We then went back to see Big Almaty Lake. Very impressive. I loved the colour of the water. I learned interesting facts on this tour as well.

My guide, Iskander, was really good.It was my third day with him, and it was very comfortable. The driver was also very professional. It took three hours to get to the canyon. I love the type of landscape we drove through.
We had a few stops along the way. The canyon was beautiful, the day perfect. We walked to the river, then took the truck back. After that, we went out on an outcropping to have my photo in traditional dress and with the Kazakh flag. A perfect ending to the trip there.
I was then on my way to the border to Kyrgyzstan, where Iskander waited until I cleared the border.

A finely organized half day tour of the city. Our young guide Ishkandar was very polite , knowledgeable, helpful and friendly . This half day tour should be done by everyone who wants to get an idea of the city of Almaty . Lovely city , lovely people in Almaty !

Iskander did everything I could have wished for. Excellent job.There was safe driving. The tour was fairly complete, entertaining and nice.

Iskander has been amaising guide all throughout the tour. He was prepared for every contingencies and accomodated all our requests. He was aso able to quickly change the itinerary to account for the weather which really helped us experience the best of Altyn Emel.

Iskander has been incredibly helpful and friendly during our tour on Altyn Emel. He has a vast knowledge on the current affairs, history and culture of Kazakhstan. He is also well equipped during our trekking events.
